HipHop Hurray III was a blast!!!

Time passed by so fast, and the two days of Hiphop Hurray III are already over. No doubt, this is the best Hiphop Hurray so far, and i'm so proud to be part of it. All the performers were off the hook, i must say. My personal favourite would be Xstatix ofcourse, who did a freakin dope live set. Our guest artiste, ThreeFlow, were amazing too. Mad love for them from SG.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Beats Society, Music For Good and Esplanade for making the event possible. Localbrand for the tee. And to all those lovely people and friends who waited for me to perform, thank you so much for ur support. I love u people!!!

HipHop Hurray III Special...

Yes, yes, ya'll!!! For those who have been looking forward for Saturday's show, well, i've got a good news. Hehe! Well, its more for me actually. I'll be doing two brand new song, entitled Its Still HipHop and Business As Usual. Its Still Hiphop is my intro song for Saturday's set, and it is also my intro song for my upcoming EP, The First Draft. Business As Usual is also fresh from the rack, and u guys have to check it out.

For those of u who kept asking me wat time i'm performin, i'm actually performin at 10pm to be exact. But i do want u guys to be around throughout the whole show. Psykelectics

These boys went from 'copycats' to the real deal in jus a few years. Psykelectics biggest break was probably the Black Eye Peas : Rap For A Cause competition, which they won first. Since then, they have created a name for themselves in the local hiphop scene. Most of their tracks are produced by Gotbeats Foundation, mainly by the talented J'y'Reste and also by The F Word. Their songs like 'Poltergeist' and 'Foreign Films' are among the local's favourite and undeniably the few best songs the local hiphop scene have heard. Lyrically, these boys are lyricist at heart, and, trust me, u wont want to miss their showcase at Hiphop Hurray this weekend. This is also the first time the boys will be performing at the Waterfront, Esplanade. Show some love for them people!


XstatiX

Straight from the As.One Family contingent, Xstatix is one of the strongest crew in the local hiphop scene. These three lyricist were together since 5 years ago, and still making music staying true to hiphop. Xstatix was last seen at Totally Booked Geylang East library, and their performance was surpassingly excellent. A lot emcee/crews have tried to sound like them these days, but none can be compared to this pioneering crew. Their beats are mainly done by Gotbeats Foundation main man behind dope samples, The IZA. This is certainly an act not to be miss this weekend.


Velvet Groove

Velvet Groove's main man, Razil, has gone a long way and finally found his style in this crew. Velvet Groove made a huge impact at Platform 5 with a captivating performance and they were nominated the top 5 in the annual rap talent search. No doubt, Razil's silky smooth voice mixed wif Ollie's rap flows are a perfect combination. Their melodious and catchy Hiphop/R&B beats are mainly produced by Sazery and also by the multi talented Razil. Velvet Groove was last seen at Smashd, an event organised for The Straits Time pocket fund, and their set was splendid. If u like to party, then these boys are the one u're looking for. They are off the hook.


Sleeq

These two young gentlemen are not only charming wif their looks, but they are extremely talented. Alyph is the main man in the music production of Sleeq, under the monicker Magic Potion and it is, no doubt, making waves in the local hiphop scene. Syarif on the hand, recently joined the Singapore Teen Idol competition and he came in 2nd runner up, but he really has a great voice. On a personal note, they are cousin actually. Sleeq is definately one of the hiphop / r&b crew to look out for tis year, and u'll be dissapoined if u miss their set this weekend.


Nthral

Nthral's biggest break was probably when he won the 50 cent rap-alike competition held in 2003. Later he emerged again in the popular local hiphop talent search, Platform 4 in 2004 and he came in 2nd. But, he was one of the crowd's favourite at that time and his music were really² good. Nthral have not been performing for quite some time, due to tight schedule, but i bet alot of people out there are eagerly waiting for him to perform again. Hiphop Hurray this weekend is definately a big comeback for him, so show some love and catch this talented solo emcee in action.


Public Eyez

Wat more can i say? Public Eyez have the sickest flow among many crews in the local hiphop scene. These boys are among the pioneering acts still standing strong since 5 years ago with a single purpose, to entertain the audience. Songs like 'Futuristic' and 'Last Goodbye', which was sampled from the late Sudirman, are among the popular songs they have and are definately the local's favourtite. Most of their beats are produced by Ferkazz. They were last seen at Smashd, and their set was off the hook. U cannot miss them this weekend.

Psykelectics, Xstatix, Velvet Groove and me are performin on Saturday, 25th February. Sleeq, Nthral and Public Eyez will be performin on Sunday, 26th February. Both shows start at 7.30pm. Dont be late! U wont wanna miss a single thing. :)

HipHop Hurray III

The day some of u have been waiting for...

Hiphop Hurray returns this Saturday, 25th Feb, for the third time and FreAkyZ is part of it alongside some of the best in the local hiphop scene. The event organised by Music For Good and Beats Society is held at The Waterfront, Esplanade for two consecutive day. Saturday's line-up will be Psykelectics, Xstatix, Velvet Groove and FreAkyZ. On Sunday, we'll have Sleeq, Nthral and Public Eyez. Guest artiste, Three Flow (from Kuala Lumpur) will make appeareance on both days. This is definately an event not to be missed. Expect different styles of hiphop and whole lotta fun with the performers.

The event kicks off at 7.30pm on both days, and its FREE! Be there people and show some love... Till then, take care... Peace! :)

Totally Booked last Friday was not as happening as the last one held there. The sound system was really bad, and some of the rappers couldnt hear themselves or the music. But its all good, we still have one more coming up next month , and we hope it will turn out great and more people would be there. Highlight of the show was probably Bless, who's lyrics really touched alot of audiences. Psykelectics and FreAkyZ made a special appearance for the Switch Segment. I had to do their song, and they had to do mine. Whaha! It was a lil messy, but i had fun, and i bet the guys did too.

Next month's Totally Booked will be at Tampines Regional Library on the 17th March. Be there!

Smashd was freakin off the hook k... I had loads of fun performing. The lights, the sound system and especially the crowd were amazing. I even had one aunty standing up and dancing to my Poppa's Got A New Wife and there were also some people who sang to my Same Women Again. Hahaha! Thank you to the organisers who invited us to perform and also the lovely people who were there. Not forgettin, my friends who came, love u guys. Smashd rock! Totally!!!

My next show would be this coming Saturday, 25th February, at the Waterfront, Esplanade. The day some of u have been waiting for, Hiphop Hurray III. Shows, shows, shows...

Today at 6.30pm sharp, come down for Totally Booked, at Geylang East Library. Performances by Artchitex, Da Unit, P6's Akeem and not forgettin Bless. SO do come down if u're free. There will also a special segment, that me and another crew will appear for awhile. Hehe... Do catch that segment.

Tomorrow at 6pm, i'll be performin at an event called Smash. Venue would be D Marquee, Downtown East and tickets are $15 at door. Beats-Society line-up would be FreAkyZ, Public Eyez and Velvet Groove. Expect a great show with alot more performances, from hiphop to other different genre. Yes! Yes ya'll!

World Harmony day falls on Monday, and there would a be show at Youth Park in the evening where i will be performin. So if u're free do come down for that too.

Ok, for those who kept asking what was i doing at ITE Clementi, let me explain. The students there had some project to do, and they invited Imran to give them an inspirational talk bout starting their own business. So Imran talked bout Beats Society, plus all the relevent topics, and then he had to introduce one of his artiste, which fortunately, was me, FreAkyZ.

I had a superb time performing at ITE Clementi, even though it was jus a small gig. The people there were really friendly and supportive. Thank you so much for having BS and me there. Hope to see ya'll ard at my other shows.

Lust Out Loud @ Caltex House

It was raining when we started the show, so all the items were shifted under the shelter at Caltex House. The palm reading was like the main attraction actually, compared to me and the t-shirts. But its aite, cos i had fun performin. Saw a few familiar faces.

Lust Out Loud...

Yes yes people... Localbrand is having a showcase today infront of The Caltex House, Raffles Place. And ofcourse, their signed artiste, FreAkyZ, is performin today. There will be two showcases. One at 12noon and one at 5pm. So if u're around the area do drop by alright. :)

Speakeasy V... What more can i say?

Earshot has become my new chill out place every first Saturday of the month. I feel safe and home there. Haha! Speakeasy V rocked. What more can i say? The event gets better everytime and i hope it maintains tat way.

SD did a great set. They had one song acoustic while the drums are already programmed. Nice! Maybe Speakeasy should have an acoustic special. Hehe! Niwae they also featured a young lady, and she was really good. I made the guy who rapped in Malay to speakeasy, and he did it really well. Great job by SD!

Lee-Rocka was back to show the people wat he was made of again. His darks beats were a little dull, but he did good lah. I hope he will still write while he's serving his NS soon. Good luck Wayne!

Phique was really good. She was like so enthusiastic although i could see that she was really nervous. But she pulled it off, wif a lil bit of hiccups. Hehe! Mie came in later so hyped up cos its been so long since he last held a mic. He did the D&B remix version of the track, and it was superb. The new rap couple is in the house ya'll. Beware! Hehe...

Lefttool had some Neptunes kinda track for his set, but one of his tracks produced by Rauzan was really off the hook. New producer on the lookout. He featured Rauzan and Richard on his 2nd song, and he even wanted to take off his shirt towards the end of the song. Haha! That was funny! But its all good. We all had fun...

Lastly, GotBeats Foundation, rocked the place up wif their beats on the open mic segment. J'y'Reste and Zulu collaboration was perfect, and saw many emcees came up to the front to spit a verse again. Speakeasy V is just around the corner people. The monthly gig is still going strong wif new and familiar acts, crazy segments, and ofcourse hiphop the Speakeasy style. And once again, we are goin to introduce performers from Platform 6. Come down early, as space is limited, and pls do not be late, cos u wont want to miss a single thing.
